The Biblical View of the Tradwife

equal rights amendment era feminine energy proverbs 31 tradwife women

The "tradwife" (traditional wife) movement celebrates women who embrace traditional roles, valuing homemaking, family care, and nurturing relationships. It stands as a counter-cultural response to modern feminist ideologies, emphasizing the beauty and strength found in domestic life, grounded in faith and timeless values. Tradwives inspire others through their devotion and commitment.

Tradwives prioritize their roles as homemakers, caregivers, and supporters of their husbands and families. Many see this movement as a refreshing return to simplicity and traditional values, others criticize it for perpetuating patriarchal norms and limiting women's autonomy. As the tradwife phenomenon continues to grow and evolve, it raises important questions about gender roles, identity, and the complexities of modern womanhood.

The Insidious Equal Rights Amendment

The reason for these trends because of the many problems created by the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment) movement, which sought to blur the distinct roles and virtues that God established for men and women.

One of the most significant and tragic outcomes of the ERA has been the rise in abortion rates. With the push for equality, many argued for the right to choose, leading to the legalization of abortion through Roe v. Wade in 1973. This decision has resulted in the loss of millions of innocent lives. The ERA, insidiously said they wanted to promote equality, was actually Satan's tool to create a culture that devalues life, eroding the moral foundation of society.

Another profound consequence of the ERA is the increase in the number of latchkey kids—children who are left alone at home due to both parents working full-time. The push for women to enter the workforce, driven by the ideals of equality, has led to a breakdown in the traditional family structure. With mothers no longer at home to provide the natural nurturing and guidance that children need, many young people have grown up with a sense of neglect and insecurity. This has contributed to a rise in juvenile delinquency, emotional issues, and a general decline in the quality of family life. There is no substitute for Motherly rearing. The ERA, has placed American children at risk, leading to a generation that has had to fend for itself in the absence of parental care and guidance.

The ERA  aimed to ensure legal equality without acknowledging the unique strengths and gifts that women bring to their families and communities. As a result, this movement has often led to the marginalization of traditionally feminine roles such as child-rearing and nurturing, pushing women to adopt traits that may conflict with their inherent, God-given nature.

In our Proverbs 31 Class (lessons in becoming a Tradwife), we explore the timeless wisdom embedded in the story of the virtuous woman—a figure who represents the essence of biblical femininity. This concept offers a perspective distinct from modern feminism, which often downplays the differences between men and women, marginalizes the sacred role of child-rearing, and pressures women to adopt traits that conflict with their inherent feminine spirit. Instead, we invite you to rediscover the multifaceted beauty of biblical femininity, celebrating qualities like nurturing, emotional intelligence, empathy, and collaboration—traits that are vital, not weak.

Biblical Femininity: Embracing God-Given Roles

Proverbs 31 provides a powerful framework for understanding biblical femininity, rooted in the belief that God created men and women as equal in value but distinct in roles. This perspective celebrates the unique strengths and gifts women bring to their families, communities, and the world. Our class will guide you through the lessons of Proverbs 31, where you will find fulfillment and purpose in your God-given identity, rather than striving to conform to societal expectations that may not align with your true nature.

Strength Through Virtue: The Power of Biblical Femininity

The virtuous woman in Proverbs 31 exemplifies that biblical femininity is not about weakness or passivity. Instead, it embodies the character of God through virtues such as diligence, compassion, and wisdom. In our class, we’ll explore how women like Esther and the Proverbs 31 woman demonstrate that biblical femininity is a powerful force for good. By embracing these qualities, you can experience the joy and strength that come from living out your divine design, making a meaningful impact on the world around you.

Sub-Mission

Ephesians 5:21-33 and 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 discuss the dynamic of submission and partnership in relationships, emphasizing mutual respect and interdependence. This perspective encourages a balanced and harmonious expression of feminine and masculine energies. In these lessons we will examine Sub-Mission as our role in our marriage mission.

The submission verses in the Bible have been misused and abused by some individuals to justify harmful and oppressive behaviors towards women. These verses have been taken out of context and used to perpetuate harmful gender stereotypes, control, and manipulation.

However, it's important to remember that the Bible also teaches about mutual respect, love, and submission within relationships (Ephesians 5:21, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7). The original context of these verses emphasizes voluntary submission, not coercion or oppression. It's crucial to recognize the difference between:

  • Healthy submission: willing, voluntary, and mutual (as seen in Christ's relationship with the Church)
  • Unhealthy submission: forced, coercive, and oppressive (used to control or manipulate others)

In the Proverbs 31 Class we work to reclaim these verses from those who have misused them and focus on building healthy, loving relationships that reflect God's original design.
